Connecting Hearing Aids to Android

Some hearing aids can connect to Android phones for streaming, calls or app control. Android settings vary between phone brands, so your screen may look slightly different from the video.

Before you start

  1. Make sure your hearing aids are charged or have fresh batteries.
  2. Keep the hearing aids close to the Android phone.
  3. Check that Bluetooth is turned on.
  4. If your hearing aids use a manufacturer app, make sure the app is installed and up to date.

General connection steps

  1. Open Settings on the phone.
  2. Go to Bluetooth, Connected Devices or Accessibility, depending on your phone model.
  3. Restart the hearing aids or place them into pairing mode as advised for your device.
  4. Choose Pair New Device or scan for available devices.
  5. Tap the hearing aid name when it appears.
  6. Accept any pairing requests and check that both hearing aids are connected if you use two devices.
  7. Open the hearing aid app if your clinician has recommended one.

Helpful tips

  1. Some Android phones support direct streaming and some require a manufacturer app.
  2. If pairing fails, restart the phone and hearing aids, then try again.
  3. Keep the phone software and hearing aid app up to date where possible.
  4. Your settings menu may use different wording depending on the phone brand.

  1. The hearing aids do not appear in Bluetooth or Connected Devices.
  2. Only one hearing aid connects.
