Our History
Country Hearing Care has grown to become one of the largest independent hearing care providers for regional and underserved communities—building meaningful connections, one at a time.
															A little bit of history
In 2024, Ballarat Hearing Clinic and Country Hearing Care (formerly Sunraysia Hearing Care) merged to create Country Hearing Care Pty Ltd. Here’s some of the history that led to that moment, and what’s happened since.
Ballarat Hearing Clinic was established in 1983 and moved to their current Drummond Street North premises in 1996. Locally owned and independent and BHC had grown to service several locations (including a second permanent site in Sebastopol), with a dedicated team of passionate professionals.
Sunraysia Hearing Clinic began operating from a room at the Mildura Base Hospital in 2003.
Over the following years, as the business grew to wider regions, they changed the trading name to Country Hearing Care, to better represent the wider geographic footprint of the expanding clinic locations.
With the merging of the two companies, we decided to retain the ‘Country Hearing Care’ banner as it better lends itself to the further growth that we anticipate.
We may be a bit larger now but our mission remains unwavering: to deliver exceptional, client-centred hearing healthcare with the utmost ethical standards to our communities.
