What do we specifically offer to the veterans & pensioners?​

Those with a PCC (pension concession card) or DVA Gold or White cards (where hearing loss is specified) are entitled to hearing services through the governments Hearing Services Program. The Hearing Services Program means free hearing tests and free or subsidised hearing aids.

Top up

At Country Hearing Care you are under no pressure to spend any extra money - our clinicians are not paid commission, and they have no vested interest in you ‘Topping-Up’. You have the option to spend extra money if you want to choose more sophisticated hearing aids and we can help you find an appropriate level of technology for you. If you have ‘extras/ancillaries’ on your private health insurance then you may be entitled to some money back.

Maintenance

As part of the ‘Hearing Services Programme’ we provide an Annual Maintenance Agreement, under which we maintain your hearing aids and supply your batteries. The DVA covers this cost for eligible veterans. You can choose not to take up the maintenance agreement, however you will need to purchase your batteries and pay for the servicing and repair of your hearing aids.

Assistive listening devices

We have a range of assistive listening devices, such as Bluetooth TV links, Sennheiser headphones, remote microphones and remote controls. Under the DVA’s Rehabilitation Appliances Program (RAP), eligible veterans could be provided with devices at no cost.

A hearing test is quick and easy and if you’re an eligible pensioner or veteran it’s free too!

Getting your hearing tested regularly is very important. Your initial hearing test will act as a ‘baseline’ for the future and allows your audiologist to track any hearing loss.

If it comes to trialling hearing aids or devices, some of the benefits could be:
